Week 4 Notices -  February 20, 2021 Bonjour everyone. I trust you have had a lovely weekend, we have truly been blessed with fabulous weather. It sure was a topsy turvy week with the country changing lockdown levels. We were so relieved to be at Level 2 and to still be able to work alongside our learners. It is a nice feeling knowing that we are now down to Level 1. Ash Wednesday was celebrated with a beautiful Liturgy in our school hall last week. We got to meet our new parish priest Fr Thomas. No doubt he is going to deliver the Gospel to us in an engaging and meaningful way. Our students have made a promise during Lent to try and give up some kind of treat such as ice cream or chocolate. It would be interesting to see how strong their willpower is. Watch this space. We also had our beginning of the year mass in the church celebrating our new families. It was lovely to see some parents come to mass. What's on this week:  There is swimming every day this week. Please make sure y

Bonjour and welcome We are all ready for our first day of school and I am so excited to be able to see each of our students smiling faces tomorrow. It is a short week, which is a great way to ease our children back into school mode without too much of a shock to the system. It was an absolute pleasure meeting one on one with parents and caregivers last week and chatting with you about your child. Thank you all for taking some time out of your very busy schedules to come and meet with us.  Just a few week reminders for the week: No swimming this week, Middle School will be swimming on even weeks starting in Week 4 Tuesday: Powhiri and Waitangi Liturgy at 10:15am.  Friday: Golden Time Interschool House Competition Tug of War The Diocese Commissioning Mass is on Thursday 18th February at 6.00pm in Tauranga Don't forget your sunhat. Welcome back to the 2021 school year at St Mary's

Image
Welcome back from the holidays.  I hope you have all had a lovely rest and enjoyed having fun and family time.  I am looking forward to meeting everyone over the next two days as we begin our learning journey together.  Thank you for making appointment times so promptly. My name is David Bach and I have been teaching at St. Mary's for 15 years, the last 9 years in the Middle School.  After many years of teaching, I still love coming to school each day and seeing the smiles when progress is made (no matter how big or small) or when something new is achieved.  I am a very positive person and believe that relationships are the foundation for learning.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns.  I am normally in my classroom from 7:30 am to 3:30pm, but can stay later if a parent needs to see me. My email address is:  davidb@stmarysrotorua.school.nz  I am also willing to give my phone number to parents so you can text me or call for urgent matters. Stationery Studen
