Children from Rooms 12, 14 and 15 are now experiencing catfish netting at Ohinemutu. Last week we caught and released a young Brown Trout, several smelt and some cockabullies.
Weekly Notices, Term 3, Week 7 September 05, 2021 Good morning to everyone on another lovely sunny day. Happy Fathers Day to all our dads, we hope you have a special day in your bubble. It's hard to believe that almost three weeks ago we went into lockdown. A big thank you to all of our families for the support you are giving your children with their Home Learning Programmes during this time. It has been a big learning curve for many of us and certainly a time of building resilience. I feel so blessed to work in such a supportive and caring community. The Prime Minister announces late Monday afternoon what the next plan is. Fingers crossed we move to Level 2 soon. This week we will continue with the Home Learning online. We have our daily meetings on Google Meet at 10am. The children and us teachers have been enjoying connecting and doing some fun activities. O ur Pasifika group have given us a class challenge - to learn a prayer they gave us and then to stand up and say it in front of the school at singing time on Thursday before we go out to lunch. 3-way conferences Three Way Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday 3rd August from 3.10 to 6.00 pm and Wednesday 4th August 3.10 - 6.00 pm. You need to go to www.schoolinterviews.co.nz and enter the event code aemzc. The time allowed for each conference is 10 minutes. Please be considerate of the teacher (who needs to keep to the appointment schedule) and other parents who have made bookings. If you feel you need more time for discussion, please organise another time to meet with the teacher. Kamusta and Welcome to Week 6. We are already halfway through Term 2 and feeling many of the effects of Winter, namely dark mornings, cold gloomy days and viruses. There are a number of cold viruses going around at the moment. Please remember that if your child is feeling sick we ask you to keep them at home to recover. Over the next couple of weeks, all Middle School children will be tested in Reading, Writing and Maths in preparation for Mid-Year reports.
