Notices Week 4 Term 3

Bula Vinaka everyone. We were so blessed to have such beautiful weather for this weekend. Although windy, seeing the sun out is uplifting for our spirits.

On Sunday morning at the 10am mass we had a lovely turnout of students coming to celebrate the Assumption of Mary. There was a procession shortly after mass where everyone walked with some parishioners around the block. It was a heartwarming experience.

Our children have just started learning about how to recite a poem for our annual Kahikatea Poetry Competition. Please encourage your child to memorise their poem off by heart. Classroom competitions start in week 5. We will be looking for expression in our students' voices, the use of gestures/ actions as they read, and how they tried to gain the attention of their audience through the projection of their voices.

PB4L - Positive Behaviour for Learning

PB4L is hosting a parent chat night. There are 2 sessions available to make sure that we can involve as many families as possible. Childcare will be provided for those who need it.  Come along and enjoy some light refreshments and good conversation. Grant Gaston, an advisor from the Ministry of Education, will also be there to share ideas and help answer questions. 

Thursday 19th August 3:15-4:15 pm and 6:00-7:00 pm

Last week we celebrated Mary Mackillop Day with mass and fun school activities. The children had such a great time learning about the person who established our school. Below are some photos of the afternoon tabloid sports.

  Bonjour to all Parents and Caregivers, Firstly we would like to thank all parents and caregivers for the wonderful work they have been doing with homeschooling their children during the level 4 covid-19 lockdown. We hope you have had no problems accessing the learning on the Middle School Kahikatea site. Remember that all the information regarding home learning can be found on the class blog from either this week or last week. If you have any concerns or questions do not hesitate to contact me. We realise that many parents will be working from home and that time to help children with their learning may be limited. The learning posted on the site is intended to be independent work for the children as much as possible. Please encourage your child to do as much work as is feasible given the lockdown realities in your household bubble.   Week 8 - Term 4 - 2021   Weekly Notices, Week 8 Term 4    December 5th, 2021   Kia Ora, Christmas music is playing and the decorations are up, Christmas is only 20 days away which also means that our school year is just about complete. This is the last full week of school and there are a lot of activities. Please remember children's $2 koha tomorrow for our fish and chips lunch. Library books are to come back to school this week if you still have some at home, please. We are publishing a school magazine again this year, and this will be available during the last week of this term. At this stage, there are only to be 100 magazines printed. It will be a great memento of 2021. Orders are being taken now with the cost for the magazine being $10.00. Kahikatea's Big Day In Monday 6th December is our Kahikatea Big Day In.
